An intergenerational retreat exploring the feminine genius.HOM

“All generations shall call me blessed!”, Luke 1:48. Whatever her age, it is the ache in every female heart to know that she is chosen, beautiful, and loved. We also desire to love and give of ourselves. The perfect model of this love, virtue and beauty is found in Mary. However, we also forget that Our Lady relates and understands our struggles. She wants to walk with us on this journey, helping us to grow closer to her Son.

this retreat is offered to girls ages 7 – 14 and their accompanying mother, grandmother, aunt or Godmother. There will be Mary- related talks for adults and children as well as games, music, crafts, Eucharistic Adoration, Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Mass. the retreat is designed to foster in various generations what St. John Paul II called the “feminine genius”, by exploring how to apply the love and virtues of Mary to our modern day lives.

Our first Hearts of Mary retreat (see picture) was a full house, so register early.Hearts of Mary Retreat picture

A retreat with Father Binu Edathumparambil, MSFS

Christian discipleship is a call to communion with God and others. We are not meant to be isolated beings. We are created and called to be a community of people united with God and one another. The key to success in life is to discover what this communion means and live it in our daily lives. Fr. Binu Edathumparambil shares his thoughts and reflections on this theme. Take a little time off from your busy schedule to take advantage of this great opportunity to refresh and renew your life.

THE PRESENTER:  Father Edathum12-disciplesparambil is a member of the Missionaries of St Francis de Sales. He is currently working at UMSL and at St Joseph Catholic Church in Manchester. He has advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy from St Louis Psychoanalytic Institute and is the author of : “The Accent: Exploring the Path to a Rejuvenating Life”, and”I Am Who I Am: Unraveling the Mystery of God”.

the cost is $ 190 per participant, which includes lodging (private room with shower), linens and meals.

Retreat groups can now incorporate into their plans for worship and prayer, our new Grotto. A short trail walk from the Retreat House, the grotto was recently developed as an Eagle Scout Service Project by Gabe Rimel from  Scout Troop 116 at St Justin the Martyr Catholic Church. Thought to have once been a quarry to produce the stone for the Marycliff house and for the rock walls throughout the property. the site provides a perfect setting for the grotto. A large flat bedrock base, faced on one side by a stone bluff and surrounded by trees forming a canopy overhead makes it appear as if God placed it there for its intended purpose – prayer and meditation. The Grotto includes rustic seating, a fire ring, a cross and a statue of the Blessed Mother. What a perfect place for evening worship for a group, or for quiet, peaceful individual prayer.
