THE BRAND NEW DAY RETREAT, MAY 19 – 21, 2017

DSC_1857Led by Diana Gorham a long-time retreat director and assisted by Jim Ford, MRCC’s Executive Director, this weekend retreat moves us outside our comfort zone and leads us to discover new ways of following the compass to the Divine.

We all desire an authentic experience of our Creator, and yet we are often left with an unquenchable thirst and unfulfilled hunger. We long for renewal, and yet find ourselves on a fleeting high. this retreat will offer a spiritual challenge – one which will require us to move beyond a compact version of our Creator.

We invite you to Come, See, Feel, Touch, and be healed by the wonder of Creation in the quietness of the breeze or the ripple of the river. We will be called forth into the mystery of Love, Peace and Hope that speaks to our heart, body and soul. Let us enter into the territory of a greater understanding of that which is present to each of us … with each breath we take.

The retreat begins with supper on Friday at 5:30 pm and concludes following lunch on Sunday. The cost is $ 190 per participant ($160 for a couple sharing a room)  which includes lodging in single rooms with bath, linens, towels and all meals.

NEW PROGRAM FEATURE – BEAUTIFUL, PRAYERFUL GROTTO

Retreat groups can now incorporate into their plans for worship and prayer, our new Grotto. A short trail walk from the Retreat House, the grotto was recently developed as an Eagle Scout Service Project by Gabe Rimel from  Scout Troop 116 at St Justin the Martyr Catholic Church. Thought to have once been a quarry to produce the stone for the Marycliff house and for the rock walls throughout the property. the site provides a perfect setting for the grotto. A large flat bedrock base, faced on one side by a stone bluff and surrounded by trees forming a canopy overhead makes it appear as if God placed it there for its intended purpose – prayer and meditation. The Grotto includes rustic seating, a fire ring, a cross and a statue of the Blessed Mother. What a perfect place for evening worship for a group, or for quiet, peaceful individual prayer.

OUTDOOR PRAYER LABYRINTH COMPLETED

An outdoor Prayer Labyrinth was designed and constructed as an Eagle Scout Service Project by Adam Gass and his fellow Scouts and leaders from Troop 603 in Ballwin, MO. The project was completed on Saturday, September 27th. Adam and his family are parishioners at St. Alban Roe Catholic Church in West County. The labyrinth is constructed using landscape stones and the paths are filled with top quality mulch which was donated by Fick Supply Service, Inc.

“the labyrinth represents a journey, a pilgrimage, a conscious taking of time to seek God”,  Carole Ann Camp.

The Center is most grateful for this beautiful addition to the features we are able to make available to people who come here on retreat.Labyrinth 2pm
